Why did I choose my major?
What was your dream job as a child? 馃 I don't really
remember what my dream job was, I remember that I liked to play the teacher.
I
study social work and it is my first year at this university. I previously
studied at the University of Atcama (UDA) in my hometown but I decided to change after
doing an exchange for half a semester in which I fell in love with the
university educational system. At the previous university I had the options of
studying law, psychology or obstetrics. 馃搶

What made you decide on this major?
I
was never one hundred percent sure that I would study, for this reason I applied
to a university in Santiago for psychology, I don't think I remember well, but
due to the social outbreak and then the pandemic, my parents didn't let me go to
Santiago. For this reason I went to see what major had places, the UDA had a
variety but the ones I wanted did not have places, so I decided to enter with
the plan of having good grades and change my major, but during the first base
year I liked social work, I learned what it was about. I discussed its
objectives and decided to stay, then as I mentioned before I changed to the
University of Chile.馃樈

How has your experience at the university been until now?
My
experience has been positive, I have learned a lot more, I have participated in
discussions, the year I spent at the stiec center where we worked with the
community of Cerro Baron de Valparaiso. For that reason, we traveled sometimes
and we also had contact with the technical high school of the sector, it was all
very interesting. 馃樇

I think the Juan Gomez Milla campus should be mentioned. I
consider it very nice, it is great, we can share with classmates from different
careers and faculties, the atmosphere is incredible.
